KAPILVASTU: Rastriya Prajatantra Party-Nepal (RPP-N) Chairman Kamal Thapa has claimed that the international agencies have thrown in huge amounts of money to turn Nepal into a secular state.

Speaking at a function in Kapilvastu on Friday, Thapa said, “Ultra-leftist leaders have supported the idea of a secular state for their vested interests.” Thapa also said that ethnic-based federalism would weaken national integrity. [break]

“Ethnic-based federalism would invite complexities in the country,” he added. He insisted that restructuring the country into various provinces would divide the Nepali society along religious, ethnic and communal lines. Thapa further said that the Baidya-led CPN-Maoist´s should also participate in the elections.
