“We are preparing to conduct special market inspection as consumption of food commodities increases during Tihar,” Pramod Koirala, spokesperson at DoFTQC, said.
According to him, three different monitoring teams will inspect the market even during the three-day Tihar holiday.[break]
The inspection teams, including representation from Nepal Police, District Administration Office (DAO) and media personnel, started section inspection from Sunday itself, Koirala said.
He further added that the department will also deploy mobile monitoring vans outside the Valley, especially to monitor groceries and eateries along the country´s major highways.
During Dashain, the monitoring teams had inspected on 24 hotels, restaurants and sweets shops along the highways. Similarly, it had also monitored about a dozen sweets shops in the capital.
DoFTQC inspects Bhatbhateni Super Market
