Subash Yonjan, 40, a resident of Fikkal, Ilam died while undergoing a CT scan test in the hospital. He had severe injury on his head, police said.
The doctor was lying unconscious in Fikkal bazaar before the police rescued him to the hospital.
Yonjon was working for Kankai Hospital, Birtamod.
The assailants are absconding.
