Dhaulagiri Campus closed over vandalism

BAGLUNG, Aug 14: The Dhaulagiri Campus has been closed for an indefinite period following vandalism in the campus by the Bachelors´ second-year students.



Issuing a press statement on Tuesday, Ananda Raj Silwal, the campus chief,  announced the closure of the campus citing uneasy circumstances created due to the vandalism.[break]



Irate students had vandalized and torched physical infrastructures of the campus including table, chairs on Monday, saying that the campus administration failed to appoint an adequate number of teachers.



Around 2500 students have been affected due to the closure of the campus.



The campus has been conducting Bachelors´ level classes in Humanities, Education, Science and Management streams and Masters´ level classes in Humanities and Education streams.



Meanwhile, various students unions and teachers organizations of Tribuvan University have condemned the vandalism in the campus.
