Dev party and Sanatana party merged

KATHMANDU, Oct 17: President of Nepal National Development Party (NNDP), Takasi Miyahara and president of the proposed Sanatana Loktantrik Dal (SLD), Dr Madhav Bhattarai signed a memorandum of understanding on party merger at the central office of NNDP in Lalitpur on Monday.



The name of the new party after the merger between NNDP and SLD is Nepal National Development Party. [break]



The objective of the new party is to remain committed to the democratic and Loktantrik system, making decentralization effective, achieving sustainable development, formulating appropriate models of development for the country, providing support to the socio-economic progress of the economically poor and vulnerable people and building Nepal as a peaceful and prosperous Hindu nation.



The existing central committee of the party comprises Lokraj Poudel, Dharmaraj Baral, Santosh Basistha, Prakash Kumar Chapagain, Dr Anantahari Acharya, Pt. Lekhnath Neupane, Laxman Panthi, among others.
