KATHMANDU, March 21: The Deuba-faction of the Nepali Congress has expressed dissatisfaction over the recent nominations in the party´s student wing -- Nepal Students´ Union -- and has asked the party establishment to rectify the nominations.

Taking strong exception to the formation of a 101-member committee of Nepal Students´ Union, Nepali Congress central committee member Surendra Pandey, who is also a member of the three-member committee formed to recommend nominations, asked party President Sushil Koirala to rectify the nominations. In a letter to Koirala, Pandey said party General Secretary Prakash Man Singh and central committee member Bal Bahadur KC, two other members in the committee, made the nominations despite his objection on the names picked as central members of the student wing.

He said the nomination of 101members is against the agreement between Koirala and Sher Bahadur Deuba. They, according to Pandey, had agreed to form a 51-member Nepal Students´ Union.

Meanwhile, members nominated in the student wing from the Deuba faction have threatened to resign in protest of the nominations.
