Neither the party nor the organizer of the program has provided the details of his itinerary.
According to party insiders, Dahal usually visits Singapore to meet "either the Indian intelligence officers or Chinese businessmen."
"He abruptly left for Singapore. Nobody in the party is sure about the purpose of the visit and people he would meet," said a senior leader. Dahal reportedly met Indian intelligence officials during his past visits to Singapore, Hong Kong and London.
3 Madhes leaders off to New Delhi
Top leaders of three Madhes-based parties, including Madhesi People´s Rights Forum-Democratic Chairman Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar, Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Chairman Mahantha Thakur and Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, have left for New Delhi Wednesday.
The leaders said they will hold meetings with top leaders of India during their stay in New Delhi and hold discussion about the current political situation in Nepal. “There was an invitation from the Indian government for the top leaders of United Democratic Madhesi Front,” said MPRF-D Chairman Gachchhadar. “So we are leaving for Delhi on goodwill visit.”
It is learnt that they are scheduled to hold meetings with top Indian leaders, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress I President Sonia Gandhi and Foreign Minister S M Krishna. The visit of the Madhesi leaders comes after the visit of Rastriya Janashakti Party President Surya Bahadur Thapa.
