KATHMANDU, Oct 16: Daayitwa's Nepal Leadership Lab successfully conducted 'Leading Innovation,' an adaptive leadership course on 20 participants from politics, bureaucracy, civil society and business, from September 18 to October 2. The three-week long course was a residential session conducted at Bhaktapur, Nagarkot and Daayitwa's office in Bakhuldole, Lalitpur.

Out of 58 applicants, 20 (six politicians, four bureaucrats, six civil society members and four business personnel) were selected through a rigorous selection process by a jury comprising of Leela Mani Paudyal, former Chief Secretary of the Government of Nepal; Sapana Pradhan Malla, former member of the Constituent Assembly; and Prateek Pradhan, former Press Advisor to the Prime Minister. The selected participants were honored with the title, 'Daayitwa Innovation Leaders.'

The Daayitwa Innovation Leaders were divided into four teams consisting of members from all the four sectors. They will now practice what they learnt through group projects that work on a range of issues including skill development and entrepreneurship. The leaders will showcase their projects and outputs at a closing event to be held later in December this year.

This course is a result of one and a half year long research by Dr Pukar Malla, former senior research fellow at Harvard Center for Public Leadership, with Professors Marshall Ganz and Ronald Heifetz at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
