KATHMANDU, Aug 29: Our reader this week is Anima Poudel, a recent graduate from Kathmandu University and a volunteer at Activista, Nepal, a youth wing of ActionAid, Nepal.

Poudel enjoys reading during her free time and doesn’t mind dwelling in her dreams about the book and she talked about Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown with us. [break]

Poudel said that she thoroughly enjoyed the book and didn’t mind the thickness of the book. The book by Brown is about an ingenious code hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci. A desperate race through the cathedrals and castles of Europe leads to an astonishing truth concealed for centuries.

What did you like the most about this book?

I think I loved how the characters were penned and how everything came together in the end. Seriously, from the moment I started reading the book, I just wanted to finish it because it’s so interesting and I couldn’t stop reading. I keep thinking to myself as to why I didn’t read this before. It’s such an interesting read and since it’s half fiction and half non-fiction, it makes it even more interesting. I am looking forward to read some more Dan Brown books actually. I hope I’m not disappointed with the other books.

Who is you favorite character and why?

I loved Sophie Neveu. She’s portrayed like this woman with a lot of energy and the will to travel and uncover the truth. When I was reading the book, I could tell that she’s got a very positive attitude about things.

What kind of impact did the book have on you?

I can’t really say that it made any impact on me because when I was reading the book, I just wanted to know how it was going to end. It was a very interesting read. I think the only impact it had on me is that now I want to visit France (laughs).

Whom would you suggest this book for reading?

Anyone who loves reading fiction would love reading this book and the movie is pretty good too. I watched it before reading the book and I was imagining the movie all over when I was reading. I had so much fun reading it.
