“We will file a case against the prime minister, chief district officer (CDO) of Kathmandu, Tribhuvan University, TUTH and the agitating doctors Sunday if the CDO doesn´t take action,” CRPF Secretary Jyoti Baniya said. [break]
CRPF had filed a complaint at the CDO office on Thursday against nine persons, including dean of the Institute of Medicine (IOM), TUTH director, agitating doctors and students urging CDO Laxmi Prasad Dhakal to take action to resume essential services.
“It is a political case and we can´t do anything,” CDO Dhakal argued. “Police cannot run the hospital. If TU provides doctors, we can provide police for security,” Dhakal added.
Services at the hospital have been affected since March 15 after it decided to stop admitting patients. Emergency services have also been halted since Tuesday.
TU on Friday had annulled the post-graduate entrance examinations conducted on March 13 and 14 following the report of a six-member probe committee formed on March 19.
But the agitating students have continued their strike claiming that two of their demands -- resignation of officials of the Office of Dean and measures to ensure fair exams -- have not been met.
