DHANGADI, July 21: CPN-Maoist Secretary Netra Bikram Chand on Sunday claimed that his party could forge an alliance even with former king Gyanendra Shah to bail the country out of the existing crisis which he said has surfaced due to foreign interference.

Speaking at a press conference held here, leader Chand claimed that foreign meddling and political parties´  tendency to seek foreign backing to come to power have pushed the country into the present crisis. [break]

He further argued that his party is also ready to forge an alliance with the Nepal Army and other forces to safeguard nationality.

“We can go together for the sake of nationality if Gyanendra proposes such to us," Chanda said.

He, however, said that no discussions have been held yet with the former monarch on the issue.

On the occasion, he was of the opinion that conspiracy is going on to ´sikkimize´ the country from ballot itself by granting citizenship certificates to foreign nationals.

Claiming that the proposed November 19 elections could not be held, leader Chand asserted that a roundtable discussion is the most suitable way to resolve the ongoing crisis.
