“Curbing corruption is a major agenda of my government,” PM Khanal said speaking at the function organized to mark the anti-corruption day by Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA).[break]
He also promised to fill in the vacant positions of commissioners at CIAA as soon as possible with consensus from all political parties. Some of the positions are vacant for more than four years now.
Speaker Subas Nembang said that the parliament will soon ratify the International Convention on Corruption Control. Although Nepal signed the Convention in 2003, it is yet to be ratified.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav also attended the program.
Bhagwati Kafle, secretary at CIAA, informed about progresses and issues of the constitutional body.
