Cops rescued hijacked tanker

CHITWAN, Feb. 3: Police released the tanker (Na 2 Kha 4734), which was hijacked from Piple on Wednesday on its way to Kathmandu from Amlekhganj carrying disel.



According to police, those who took the taker under control had demanded Rs 350,000 as ransom from the vehicle that was carrying 12,000 liters of disel. [break]



The tanker was released on the initiation of Gadhimai Battalion of Armed Police Force, Bhandara.



Police found the tanker concealed under a tent and arrested Samyog Khan, 21, of Piple-9.



 Other seven people who were involved in the hijacking are on the run.



According to Bhagawan Malla, chief of Gadhimai Batallion, Bhandara, police were able to locate the tanker on the pretext of paying the demanded ransom.
