It is necessary to increase the number of family planning users to 68 per cent by 2015 to achieve the MDG. It is said the population preferring the means of temporary family planning was decreased as the trends of Nepali youths going abroad for job was increased. It is decreased as the government legalized safe abortion service in the country.
"It is a matter of concern as the number of population using temporary means of family planning was decreased though majority of the youths have the knowledge about the contraceptives," said Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Health and Population, Padma Raj Bhatta.
