At a programme organised by the Reporters´ Club Nepal here today, Sapkota said it was an important matter of how to institutionalize republic achieved from the historic people´s movement rather than who will be the next Prime Minister.
Sapkota added that the discussions taking place at the political level are focused on the issue of institutionalizing republic.
Stating that his party was not afraid of going for fresh election of the Constituent Assembly (CA), he said the UCPN-Maoist accepts the decision of people to going for election.
Similarly, Nepali Congress leader Arjun Narsingh KC has said that exit of the incumbent government for national consensus was the first condition of the opposition parties as the UCPN-Maoist ignored to implement the commitments in practice.
KC mentioned that other opposition parties have supported to the demand of NC of taking leadership of a national consensus government before holding the fresh election and the election was an outlet to the existing political stalemate.
He said protest programmes launched by the opposition parties were postponed at a time when initiatives were underway to forge a consensus and added the programmes would be continued if consensus was not forged.
Raghuji Panta of the CPN-UML determined that the UCPN-Maoist could not go out from consensus.
Panta said CPN-UML and Nepali Congress would no longer accept a proposal of the UCPN-Maoist as accepting all the approved issues as it is was tying hands of the future CA.
He said his party´s decision of forming a national consensus government under the leadership of NC was unchanged and warned of launching agitation again if a consensus was not forged for the formation of a national consensus government.
