The event will feature the final round of both boys and girl´s categories, ANFA informed during a press conference held at ANFA headquarters, Satdobato on Sunday.[break]
The final round of boys´ section will feature 12 teams, which were selected from among 440 school teams following selection tournaments across the country. Similarly, seven teams from among 67 schools have qualified for the finals of girls´ section.
Red Star Boarding School and Devkota Public School from Morang, Himshikhar Boarding School from Sunsari, defending champion Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya from Bhaktapur, Pathfinder School and Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute from Kathmandu, Gyanodaya Boarding School from Lalitpur, Nepal Adarsha School and Sainik Awasiya Mahavidhyalaya from Pokhara, Deep Jyoti Vidya Ashram from Banke and Nepal Police School from Dhangadhi will compete in the boys´ section at the ANFA Technical Center grounds.
Likewise, Defending champion Juddhodaya Public School and Nandi School from Kathmandu, Deep Jyoti, Shree Public High School from Sunsari, Bal Bikash School from Nawalparasi, Kanara High School from Kailali and Tops High School from Pokhara will lock horns in the girls´ section. The girls´ tournament will be held at the Satdobato ground.
Both the boys´ and girls´ title deciders will be held at the Dasharath Stadium in Kathmandu on September 3.
Final round matches under both the categories will be held in league-cum-knockout format. The boys´ teams have divided into four groups of three teams each and the group winners will make it to the semifinals. On the other hand, the girls´ teams have been divided into two groups -- one comprising three teams and another comprising four teams. The winner and runner-up of each group will enter the last four.
The top four teams of both sections will bag a purse of Rs 200,000, Rs 100,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively. The best players in four different positions -- goalkeeper, defender, midfielder and forward -- and the fair play team will also be awarded with prizes. The expected cost of the tournament is Rs 4 million.
Meanwhile, Shadab Khan, country manager, Nepal and Bhutan at Coca-Cola and ANFA President Ganesh Thapa handed over jerseys to the participating teams on Sunday. Coca-Cola has been sponsoring the tournament since 2006.
