Altogether 12 boys´ teams and seven girls´ teams from across the country have qualified for the final round of the event. The boys´ event will be held at ANFA ground, Satdobato and the girls´ at Chyasal ground.[break]
Organizing a press conference at the Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday, ANFA General Secretary Dhirendra Pradhan said both the boys´ and girls´ events will be held in league-cum-knockout format. "The teams were selected from among 320 schools of the country," Pradhan said.
Under boys´ section, Bhagawati Higher Secondary School and Mills High School from Morang and Mahendra Morang Secondary School were selected from the eastern region. Sainik Awasiya Mahavidyalaya, Siddhartha Vanasthali, GEMS and Budhanilkantha were selected from the central region.
Likewise, Sainik Mahavidyalaya (Pokhara), Nepal Adarsha Boarding School and Butwal Elite from the western region, Deep Jyoti Vidyashram from the mid-western region and Chandra Singh High School from the far-western region have qualified for the final round of the tournament.
In the girls´ category, Janata Higher Secondary School, St Xavier´s School (Godavari), Gandaki Boarding High School, Gautam Buddha, JP High School, Deep Jyoti Bidyashram and Saraswati High School have qualified for the final round.
The tournament is sponsored by Bottlers Nepal Private Limited, the official bottlers for The Coca-Cola Company in Nepal.
Speaking on the occasion, Sachit Shrestha, country marketing director of Bottlers Nepal, said the company aims to raise the standard of football in Nepal and provide a platform for hidden talents.
The top four teams of both the categories will bag a purse of Rs 200,000, Rs 100,000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 respectively. The estimated cost of the event is Rs 3.5 million.
