Clashes between groups results in death of two

Dhangadhi, Sept 27: Two persons have been killed following a dispute between the two groups of youths in Sahajpur VDC-9 of Kailali on Friday and Saturday.



The groups of youths of Shah and Saud castes engaged in bitter dispute on Friday evening after they started quarreling with each other after getting drunk.



After the dispute started turning violent, 50-year-old Ek Bahadur Shah died after falling off a cliff while fleeing the scene.



On Saturday, a group of youths from the Shah caste accused the Saud youths of being responsible for Shah’s death and attacked Ujjwal Bahadur Saud (31) at his home. Ujjwal’s sister Dhansara a local, Min Bahadur Shah, had hit her brother with stick in the head.



Critically injured Saud was rushed to Seti Zonal Hospital in Dhangadhi, but doctors declared him dead upon arrival.



In Friday’s clash, Dambar Bahadur Saud, brother of the deceased Tanka Bahadur Saud, Raji Bhandari and Min Bahadur Shah were injured. Dambar is being treated in critical condition at Dhangadhi under police watch.



Tanka Saud and Raji Bhandari are under police control after treatment. However, injured Shah is still in the village and police have not arrested anybody from the Shah youths, alleged the Saud youths.
