According to the CIAA, the manpower agencies had submitted false details, fake visas and paid bribes to officials at the DoFE to get the final approval letters to 77 aspirants for overseas work.
On Friday, the anti-graft body had arrested 17 officials from DoFE and 18 others from the Department of Immigration on charges of fraudulently issuing approval letters to 77 youths aspiring to go for abroad jobs based on false visas and details provided by the employment agencies.
In the same issue, the CIAA had last Tuesday arrested six other officials on charges of being involved in producing approval letters for the same group based on the false documents and details. Altogether, 45 individuals have been arrested in this connection.
The CIAA arrested dozens of officials from the Nepal Electricity Authority, Nobel Medical College, BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences and the Department of Customs in the past couple of weeks. Around 70 individuals are currently in CIAA custody for investigation.
