According to the Metropolitan Traffic Police Division, Ramsahapath, the decision of punching the license of drivers found consuming alcohol and keeping their records has discouraged the drunk driving. This decision had come into effect from December 7.
The drunk driving is taken as the serious sort of traffic rules violation and it could cause long-term disadvantages to the violators, said the Division. Besides, if a person found to have consumed alcohol while driving the fight time, license of that person shall be suspended, it is learnt.
