Meeting Point collaborating with six different colleges in Kathmandu is organizing similar career fairs on different dates. [break]
The chief guest at the event was Umesh Shrestha, the chairman of Higher Secondary Schools Association Nepal (HISSAN)., Principals from different schools were present as well.
The fair was organized to help students get more familiar with the different faculties and subjects that SLC graduates are exposed to and make it easier for these students to select subjects that they want to pursue.
“Most students get confused when it comes to selecting their field of study after their SLC examinations. So we launched this fair to ease their confusion and let them select subjects they are interested in,” said Indra Rijal, one of the representatives from Meeting Point.
There were 18 stalls at the event, representing different colleges and subjects. The students could also attend personal counseling sessions on different subjects like fashion designing, business studies and computer
engineering.
“I am here at this fair because I came to know that there are more than a 100 career instructors from different fields to guide us regarding higher studies,” said Mahima Karki, 16, a student at Budhanilkantha International Academy.
“This fair is meant to guide students to select appropriate subjects for their career,” said Er. Mithlesh Kr. Jha, senior administrative officer and human resource officer at Premier International College. The fair at Premier International College ends on its second day Tomorrow, June 13.
