"The candidates of various parties are violating the code of conduct," said Jang Bahadur Singh, an election observer. He further said that almost all candidates from the six constituencies of the district are violating the code. [break]
Singh further said that the candidates are violating the code by using vehicles with Indian registration number for their campaign.
“The candidates are even distributing clothes to voters, which also breaches the conduct of conduct," added Singh.
The candidates have also violated the code by resorting to wall paintings with electoral slogans.
Singh said that they will take action against the candidates violating the code within a few days.
A candidate from the Mahanth Thakur-led Tarai Madhesh Democratic Party for constituency number 1 of Saptari, Jay Prakash Thakur has instructed his party cadres to wear T-shirts with party´s electoral symbol during the electoral campaign.
Chief of the District Election office, Pradeep Sah said that they will seek clarification from Ram Babu Sah, who is contesting the poll from constituency number 2 for the Rajendra Mahato-led Sadbhawana Party, as he has violated the code of conduct.
Election Commissioner Ayodhi Prasad Yadav has also said that the Election Commission will take ´strong´ action against those who violates the code of conduct.
