This is Mota´s second participation in a paragliding competition in Pokhara. For the feat achieved on Thursday, Mota bagged a purse of Rs 25,000.[break]
America´s Arnold Franken Bergor and Venezuela´s Earnesto Hineshoza finished second and third respectively. They received cash prizes of Rs 20,000 and Rs 15,000 respectively.
Mota expressed happiness for winning the title and also promised to participate in the next edition as well.
Jessica Love of America, Trisha Shrestha of Nepal and Annalena Hineshoza of Germany secured top three spots under sports class. Similarly, Binod Bomjan, Rabin Gurung and Bimal Adhikari secured top three position in overall Nepali category.
The winners of both sports class and overall Nepali categories (from 1st to 3rd) were awarded with cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively.
Shankar Parajuli and Om Pahari won the best tendom flight and best spot landing respectively. Sandi Sigdel in raft landing, Petar Lancer of Serbia in acrobatic, and Love of America in Women were declared the best in their respective categories. All of them were awarded with Rs 5,000 each.
The event was held from Sunday to promote adventurous sports in Pokhara. The five-day long event featured 180 paragliding pilots, including 70 Nepalis, from 12 countries.
