KATHMANDU, March 25: Individuals interested to teach and travel around Kathmandu with US Embassy's Book Bus can sign up for the Book Bus instructor training program being held on March 27 and 28. Participants will need to travel from April to September.

The two day training session, organized by the Book Bus team, Quixote's Cove and Nepal Picture Library, will be conducted by writer and educator Niranjan Kunwar. The instructors will be "leading the 'Retelling Histories' and 'Retelling Our Tales' curricular units in high-schools and colleges inside and outside Kathmandu".

In the 'Retelling Histories' unit, tutors will encourage students to research their family histories and ethnic groups. Students will be reading, conducting interviews, exploring photographs at home and writing about them.

Students fascinated with local legends and myths will be interested in the 'Retelling Our Tales' unit developed by the Book Bus team with La.Lit magazine. This curriculum unit encourages students to focus on the many myths and legends that are particular to their ethnicity or locale.
