Issuing a joint press release, Himalaya Shumsher Rana, chairman of Nepal Citizens’ Forum, Khem Raj Regmi, chairman of Nepal Civil Society, and Ramesh Kumar Mandal, chairman of Madhesi Civil Society demanded that a new government to oversee elections be formed under the leadership of incumbent judiciary head. “An independent and neutral government with participation of political parties be immediately formed under the leadership of sitting chief justice,” the statement reads.They have also demanded that all necessary arrangements be promptly made for elections by the last of May 2013 to the Constituent Assembly mandating the CA to act also as legislature.
