Speaking at a regional mass gathering organized by the party, Nepal said, “There was no concrete decision on army integration due to lack of confidence among the political parties.” [break]
Nepal also stressed on the need for building confidence among the political parties for successful conclusion of the peace process.
Similarly, party general secretary Ishwor Pokharel said the Maoists combatants who do not meet standard norms of the NA would not be integrated.
Peace process drawing to close: PM Bhattarai
KATHMANDU: Claiming that the peace process is drawing to a close, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai on Tuesday said that the task of integrating the Maoist combatants would be concluded by April 12 .
“There is no need to worry. The constitution drafting process would be completed by May 27,” the prime minster said inaugurating National Volunteer Campaign, 2012 at Singha Durbar. Asked if the campaign would affect the constitution drafting and peace process, Bhattarai said, “Peace process and constitution drafting would not be affected as we will participate in the campaign in the morning.”
He maintained that the state would focus on socio-economic development once the country gets a new constitution. Bhattarai also urged all to support the volunteer campaign to start Friday.
