District police office said that Sitaram Thapa, cousin of deceased Gita Thapa, was arrested. Gita was found dead two days ago at her home after consuming poisonous substance. [break]
Deputy Superintendent of Police, Lokendra Shrestha, said that the story of murder following the incestuous relationship was unfolded after an investigation.
Sitaram confessed to the crime in his statement saying that he offered poison to Gita after she asked him to bring it fearing that the issue would be revealed after her mother, Ritumaya, got the wind of their relationship.
Sitaram told the police that he murdered his cousin by rotating her neck when she turned restless after consuming the poison.
