The accident took place when a passenger bus (Na 4 Kha 7142) heading towards Kalikot from Surkhet and a motorcycle (Bhe 4 Pa 1332) coming from opposite direction collided with each other at Lekhgaun VDC in the district along the Karnali highway.
Gurung died on the way to Nepalgunj for treatment, according to the District Police Office. Safal Gautam and Chetan Sijapati of Bhairabsthan were also injured in the accident.
