Birgunj elected to bat first and put in 160 runs losing seven wickets in the limited 40 overs. Roshan Khatri took the wicket of opener Chandra Prakash in the second over of the innings. Likewise, Bijay Rokaya trapped Rakesh Shah LBW in the third over but opener Rahul Pratap Singh and Chandan Jha rescued Birgunj. Rahul scored 68 off 93 balls while Chandan struck 20 runs. Madhav Subedi (22), Gopal Singh (29) and Avinash Karn (19) were the other contributors for Birgunj. [break]
Gopal completed his five-wicket haul as Kathmandu were all out for 152 runs in 38.3 overs. Milan Thapa (46), Bijay Rokaya (16) and Sujan Basnet (26) were the only Kathmandu batsmen to contribute double-digit scores. Gopal was adjudged man-of-the-match.

In another dead-match of the league, Region-5 Nepalgunj defeated Region-6 Baitadi by 147 runs at the Pulchowk Cricket Ground. Nepalgunj elected to bat first and accumulated 204 runs losing nine wickets in the limited 40 overs. Inamuddin Halwai scored 63 runs off 66 balls. Likewise, Saroj Basnet was unbeaten on 41 off 43 balls. Yuddha Bikram Chand took four wickets.
Baitadi´s batting reply was awful and they were all out for 57 runs in 15.4 overs. Yuddha who scored 13 runs was the only batsman to hit a double-digit score. Karamat Khan took five wickets and was adjudged man-of-the-match.

Birgunj will take on Region-4 Bhairahawa in the final of the tournament on Wednesday at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur. The top two teams of the group stage are qualified for the final.
