Bhurtel, better known for his sarcastic articles, committed suicide by hanging with a rope in the bathroom of Pashupati Guest House, DSP Govinda Ram Pariyar said. [break]
Bhurtel was staying at room number 301 of the guest house for the past three days to write a biography on President Dr Ram Baran Yadav.
The guest house staffers had called police Friday afternoon after they didn´t receive Bhurtel´s reply from inside his room. Bhurtel was identified from his note books in the room. Police have also recovered a piece of his column on Prime Minister and Machine Readable Passport (MRP).
According to family sources, Bhurtel had recently sold his house in Bhaktapur. He was planning to build a new house at Tikathali in Lalitpur.
