She mentioned that the book also sheds lights on the political instability, lack of vision and corruption that still prevails in the Karnali region.

She was also quick to point out that the book does depict life in the hills, and the Madhesh has been overlooked.

Political analyst Krishna Khanal said that the book raised the issues of state restructuring in a simplified way.

Renowned poet, playwright and an essayist Dr Professor Abhi Subedi praised the book for its courageous writing.

He was of the opinion that the writer has been successful in linking opinions, politics and other activities with nature. “The portrayal in the travelogue is connected with the author’s personality,” said he.

The book’s author Sharma shared that walking on foot for several years has been the source of writing.

The author, who has portrayed the lifestyle in Karnali in her book, has planned to spend the royalty from selling the book in the education of children in the Mid-Western region.

The author also revealed that she had saved Rs 400,000 for the Anamika Adhar Kosh by sacrificing an opulent wedding for her daughter and stressed it was money well channeled.

‘The sum from the sales of my book will also go to the very fund. Your purchase will definitely benefit the children,” she added.

Shangri-La Books has made the book available in the market and the book is priced at Rs 300.
