Army chief visiting India Friday

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: Chief of Army Staff (CoAS) Chattraman Singh Gurung is heading for India on Friday on the invitation of the Indian Army Chief Gen Deepak Kapoor. It his first official visit abroad after assuming office in September.



During his eight-day visit, Indian President Pratibha Patil will confer on him the honorary title of general of the India Army on December 14.



Gurung will attend a passing-out ceremony of Indian Army cadets at Indian Military Academy on December 12 in Deheradun as a special guest and hold meetings with high-level army officials and security advisors.
