KATHMANDU, Aug 23: An all-party meeting held to forge consensus for the Constituent Assembly (CA) term extension ended inconclusively due to dispute among the parties over the duration.

Representatives of all political parties were present in the meeting except the Nepali Congress leaders. [break]

The meeting could not take any decision as the CPN (UML) proposed for a three-month extension while the Unified CPN (Maoist) proposed for extending the CA term by six months, said a member of Madhesi Morcha, Bijaya Kumar Gachchhadar.

However the parties have agreed to extend the CA term despite their difference over the time. The meeting was called by Prime Minister Jhala Nath Khanal at the Singha Durbar.
