Speaking at the pre-launch of the book held at Indreni Food Land, Baneshwor on Friday, Bhandari mentioned, “Malaya Express is a pure reflection of the woes of Nepali society post 11 years of civil war. Coerced to carry guns at the learning age, and left with nothing but haunting memories of the war, many Nepali youths were left economically stranded, as jobs became out of their reach. With such economical pressure, their only alternative was working in a foreign nation.” Explaining its consequence in the novel, he added, “The book sheds light on the bitter truth of foreign employment and discusses on the alternatives of alleviating such emigrating trend.”[break]

The event marked the presence of Dr-Sushil Koirala, the initiator of Rose Movement Campaign, who expressed his gratification over the idea of the book that encourages the youths to return to their nation and live a peaceful life. Promoting his motto of sharing peace, he distributed roses to all the attendants of the event.
