KATHMANDU, Sept 17: A meeting of the parliament´s Business Advisory Committee concluded Thursday that it cannot act on Nepali Janata Dal´s request to relieve Bishwanath Prasad Agrawal from his parliamentary seat. The committee took the decision citing lack of legal provision to meet the party´s request.
The party had demanded that the house relieve Agrawal of his parliamentary seat saying that he no longer represents the party as it had already dismissed his membership for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
