Activists demand probe on Terai TV news

JANAKPURDHAM, Jan. 17: Demand has been made to investigate the truth about the news from a private television in connection with a bomb attack at Ramananda Chowk of Janakpur April 30 last year.



Some activists and organizations have demanded to find out the truth by analyzing the facts shown in the mystery of bomb attack of Janakpur broadcast on January 12 and 13 from the Terai Television (TTV). [break]



The news has broadcast telephone conversation of a criminal Mukesh Chaudhary with one person calling him as ´minister´ before the attack.



In the talk, Mukesh Chaudhary has asked, ´Minister, there is a crowd, what can I do?" in Hindi and Maithili.



The Mithila State Struggle Committee has started discussion, seminars and chakkajam demanding truth about the news and the Madhes Kranti Forum has demanded necessary action saying the Terai Television has created confusion in the people and made character assassination of a people´s representative.



The Committee and Forum have demanded good governance by finding out the truth of the telephone dialogue while submitting memorandum at the District Administration Office (DAO).



Committee Convenor Parasmeswor Kapadi while submitting the memorandum said the police investigation team has also suspected of political party leader´s involvement and in the television clearly a leader´s voice can be heard and its truth should come to the fore.



Likewise, Forum´s co-convenor Jagadish Mahaseth said it was a hateful act to character assassinate by mixing voice by the Terai Television on the backing of powerful leaders of large political parties.
