KATHMANDU, Aug. 24: The Kathmandu District Court has remanded Prativa Sen Bhatta, spouse of former chief of National Investigation Department (NID) Ashok Dev Bhatta, to judicial custody for six days.

Prativa, 40, was arrested from her residence on Thursday for allegedly cheating different persons luring them of jobs in Nepal Police, Nepal Army and National Investigation Department.

The Metropolitan Police Range, Hanumandhoka, had taken Prativa before the court seeking permission to keep her in detention.

The police would interrogate her and carry out further investigation during the period.

However, Prativa has refuted the charges leveled against her. Prativa herself is a retired inspector of the Nepal Police.
