The semi-finalists include entrepreneurs who made significant contributions not just monetarily, but also in terms of encouring others to follow suit. [break]
According to a press statement issued by ChangeFusion, the semi-finalists include entrepreneurs engaged in production of herbal products, tea, coffee, spices, handicraft and bricks and providing services like health care, technology and energy solutions, among others.
“After weeding out entries received from 13 zones and 29 districts, we had handed over 77 applications to a panel comprising 11 jury members and 2 advisors. The 27 semi-finalists have been selected based on its evaluation,” reads the statement.
The jury includes personalities known for their contribution to the socio-environmental and economic sectors, and for the selection. Particular focus was laid on problems that they looked to address, solutions they gave, sustainability of their businesses and social and environmental impact they made.
ChangeFusion Nepal has announced that the semi finalists are currently being evaluated further. “Once we have the finalists (up to 10 candidates), a reality test will be conducted on their ventures,” reads the statement.
The winners would be declared on December 18, 2012. SNASEA 2012 is sponsored by Surya Nepal, a multinational company, organized by ChangeFusion Nepal and supported by National Business Initiative.
