Among the arrested include deputy commander of the PLA´s Fourth Brigade at Jhyaltungdanda of Sainamaina in Rupandehi Shakti Rokaya. They have been kept at District Administration Office.
SP Bikram Singh Thapa said they were arrested as they had come out of the PLA camps with arms. They were arrested with nine different arms.
Police seized one UNMIN-certified M16, one pistol, three Insas rifles, three SMGs and one SLR. Police also confiscated three vehicles from them.
However, Brigade Commander Surya Gharti escaped the arrest along with a vehicle, the police said.
CDO Nagendra Jha said an UNMIN team has left from Nepalgunj on Monday to investigate whether the weapons were certified or not.
Rokaya said he was returning to cantonment after he was told by the party to return while he was going for the security of party chairman Pushpakamal Dahal in Nepalgunj.
