18 parties agree to present budget on Nov 19

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: A meeting of eighteen political parties at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Saturday agreed to allow the caretaker government to present the budget on November 19.



"We gave our consent to present the budget on November 19 at any cost," said Pashupati Shumsher Rana, chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party, with media after the meeting. [break]



"Parties also advised the government to present budget through ordinance if any obstructions were created," Rana added.



However, CPN-UML leader and former finance minister Bharat Mohan Adhikari said that the caretaker government will table the full-fledged budget.



"The full-fledged budget will be continuation of the previous ones," he added, "The next government can make necessary amendments in it if it finds inappropriate."



Adhikari also informed that Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is holding talks with Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal regarding the budget.
